Abstract
Surprisingly, gender aspects are rarely included as fundamental requirements in the design of technology and systems. Actually, the introduction of gender into research will offer new dimensions to technological innovation. False assumptions may derive from gender stereotypes and lead to envisage misleading technological needs. Indeed, user needs, acceptance degree and usage models of technology and systems may differ according to gender and sex variances. In particular, Internet-of-Things technology and services would get new inspirations from exploring the gender dimensions. In this paper, we elaborate on this delicate theme by comparing approaches and solutions that exploit gender diversity vs. gender neutral solutions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
