This paper presents a vision on how to apply the DevOps paradigm in the context of QoS-aware adaptive applications. The goal is to raise awareness on the lack of quantitative approaches that support software designers in understand- ing the impact of design alternatives at the development and operational stages. To this end, in this paper we: (i) verify the compliance of a design for adapta- tion approach with the DevOps life-cycle; (ii) perform the runtime monitoring of dynamic IoT systems, through Quality-of-Service (QoS) evaluation of system pa- rameters, to guide a QoS-based adaptation with the goal of fulfilling QoS-based requirements over time
